Wednesday/Thursday Coached Workouts: Chris Dadd leads this clinic emphasizing technique, strength and speed training for intermediate to advanced scullers.  Technique drills and training “pieces”  build speed and endurance.

Rough Water Clinic: A three-hour clinic is held at least twice a year on a weekend morning. This clinic is required of rowers who wish to venture beyond Richardson Bay, but is recommended for any rower ready for the next step up in skill level. Competence and confidence in rough conditions will benefit anyone rowing on the  bay, and many find it an important and enjoyable part of the sport.

Private Coaching

Our coaches are available for private sessions, to help you work on technique, improve boat handling or increase stamina and speed. Call the office to discuss your interest with the staff. Private coaching is $75/hour.

Race Prep and Special Clinics

The coaching staff schedules special clinics throughout the year especially leading up to our annual Open Ocean Regatta. Another popular clinic, held occasionally, leads a row around Angel Island. Watch this web site or check the bulletin board in the clubhouse for announcements.

Visiting Guest Coaches

On occasion noted rowing coaches from around the country come to Open Water Rowing Center to offer clinics and private coaching.  All OWRC rowers, from the most experienced to the just-trained can benefit from the experience and rowing wisdom of these experts.
